My bottle of Creed Virgin Island Water has now reached its two-year mark, and after all this time, it has developed into something truly beautiful. The juice has matured, settled, and gained that deeper character that comes with proper maceration.

This fragrance remains one of my absolute favourites. There is something about it that instantly transports me to a tropical escape — warm sunshine, ocean breeze, and a relaxed holiday atmosphere. Since many fragrance lovers already know its famous composition, I won’t spend time breaking down every note. Instead, I want to answer the question everyone seems to ask:

Is Rayhaan Aquatica a 90–95% clone of Virgin Island Water, as many people claim?

For me, the answer is no. Aquatica is not simply a copy; it has its own personality.

Virgin Island Water feels more dynamic on my skin. It develops through different phases, revealing more depth and character over time. The blending feels smoother, the sweetness is more refined, and the overall scent has a lightweight, luxurious freshness that makes it stand apart.

So, does Aquatica remind me of Virgin Island Water?

Absolutely — and that is where its charm lies.

Aquatica captures a similar tropical freshness but takes a slightly different direction. The lime note feels more prominent, giving it a sharper, cleaner, and more refreshing opening with less sweetness. During the dry-down, I do notice similarities to Virgin Island Water, but Aquatica still maintains its own identity.

Where Aquatica truly impresses me is performance. It delivers stronger projection and better longevity, especially on fabric, where the scent can easily remain noticeable even the following day.

This is not a professional fragrance review — just my personal experience and honest opinion after wearing both fragrances.

For me, Virgin Island Water is the refined tropical masterpiece, while Aquatica is a more powerful, fresh, and practical interpretation that deserves appreciation in its own right.
